London: The Best Student City in the World for the 6th Year in a Row – Find Out Why!

London has reclaimed its title as the top city for students, as per the “QS Best Student Cities 2025″ index published by QS, a renowned global higher education analysis company. London continues to hold the top position, maintaining its prominence since 2018, for the sixth consecutive time.

The “QS Best Student Cities” ranking considers different aspects, including the quality of universities, diversity among students, appeal to employers, and the affordability of living in university cities. This year, London led once again, reaffirming its position as the most sought-after student destination in the world.

Besides London, the top 10 cities include Tokyo, Seoul, Munich, Melbourne, Sydney, Paris, Zurich, Berlin, and Montreal. Some cities, like Sydney and Montreal, showed significant improvements in their rankings. Sydney rose from seventh to sixth place, while Montreal entered the top ten, jumping from 13th to 10th place. Sydney’s success is partly because of its performance in the Employer Activity and Affordability indicators, while Montreal stood out in terms of Student Mix, Employer Activity, and Affordability.

Delhi has emerged as the top-ranked city in India, according to other notable findings. Additionally, Cairo has been acknowledged as the premier student city in Africa. Izmir in Turkey has been identified as the most budget-friendly city for students in terms of the living expenses.

London, one of 16 British cities included in the ranking, was awarded for its “world-class higher education system,” which includes two universities among the top 10 globally: Imperial College London and University College London (UCL). London shares the same distinction as Boston, having the highest number of institutions in the global top 10.

The British capital also received high scores for the quality of its universities, with around eighteen institutions featured in the latest QS World University Rankings. Alumni and current students highly praised the diversity on campuses and the educational excellence of London.

In terms of international student representation, London universities stand out as 11 out of the 18 institutions are ranked in the top 50 worldwide, and three more are in the top 100. London’s business environment has also proven to be excellent for graduates. The city’s improved ranking in the Employer Activity and Employment Prospects indicator, climbing from eighth to fourth place worldwide, highlights the abundance of career prospects available for graduates.

The “Post Study Visa” scheme also contributes to London’s appeal as a student destination. This program allows international students who have completed a UK degree to work in the country for a period of two years, providing a smooth transition to a successful career.
