Kings Schools: A Successful Year for A-Levels and Foundation Students!
St Andrews University has made history after being named the best higher education institution in the UK. The university scored highest for student satisfaction, research, teaching quality, entry standards and graduate outcomes.
We’re delighted that two Kings’ Students, Jeremy and Ada, were offered places at St Andrews to study Mathematics and Philosophy and Chemistry with Medical Chemistry and External Placement.
This is already significant news, but Kings is proud to announce another year of outstanding results and university outcomes for A-level students and Advanced Level Students across its 4 UK schools, despite the challenges faced by all during the academic year. The numbers are impressive:
A-Level Students: 64% of Kings’ students had A*-A grades (over 44% above national average); 78% A*-B grades, and 91% A*-C grades
Advanced Level Foundation: 30% of students achieved Distinction (equivalent to 3 A*-A grades at A-Level); 67%of the students achieved Merit or Distinction ( with grades equivalent to 3 A*-B grades at A-Level) and 100% pass rate for students completing the course.
Kings’ students received offers from 20 of the 24 Russell Group of universities and 24 of the Times and Sunday Times Top 30 universities, including Top 10 Imperial College London (5), Durham University (6), Loughborough University (7), UCL (8), University of Bath (9), University of Warwick (=10) and University of Lancaster (=10).

Scholarship of the Month:
Applications for the Chevening Scholarship are open until 02 November. The Chevening Scholarship is an international scholarship funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office that grants foreign students from over 160 countries to study at universities in the United Kingdom. The scholarships are for one-year masters programmes and cover return flights, visa application fees, financial help with settling in, university tuition fees, and a monthly allowance for personal expenses.
Candidates from any area of expertise may apply for the programme, and successful candidates have ambition, a leadership profile, and good academic performance.
Some requirements for the applicants are: professional experience of at least two years (including volunteer work, paid or unpaid internships), good results in your undergraduate studies, to show that you have the personal qualities to benefit from the scholarship and use it in your career, to have a very clear idea of how the course you are taking can benefit your home country, etc.
Chevening Scholarships are highly competitive, only 2-3% of those who apply are eventually selected. Therefore, just being selected for an award is a mark of potential and of prestige. This is a unique opportunity to study in the UK. Because the scholarships are fully funded, students are free to focus on achieving their academic and professional goals, whilst enjoying the experience of a lifetime in the UK.
