Studying abroad: Don’t let these 5 common myths hold you back!
When the subject is studying abroad, there are a lot of assumptions about life as a foreign student – also because many people get the idea that everything outside their country will be better or worse.
England is a favourite country in conversations about studying abroad – the excellence of its education and the country’s cultural diversity is appealing to students worldwide.
In today’s post, let’s talk about five familiar statements heard by our students:
-Studying in England is only for people of a certain age.
Your age is the right age to learn: to study abroad is an invaluable and definitive experience at any stage of life.
-Instead of studying, you should travel. It is the same thing.
There is a big difference between travelling independently and studying. You will get much more from a study trip instead of merely going to sightseeing spots and taking pictures. Practising your language skills with fellow students and teachers, communicating with new friends and integrating into a new society will help you gain the language fluency.
–Companies, when hiring, do not care if you have studied abroad.
Recent studies have provided evidence that studying abroad does, in fact, make you more employable, as it is a great way to boost your skills and experiences.
–There is a lot of bureaucracy for travelling and studying in England, it is almost impossible to get in there.
Travelling to any country involves some bureaucracy. However, with planning and the right documentation, nothing will prevent you from achieving your goals. England is waiting for you.
-Studying abroad will be like a holiday—just parties and fun.
Studying abroad can be fun, but it is a challenging experience that will require your best, and the primary focus is, obviously, to learn. Learning and building valuable skills are the critical elements of international education, since studying abroad is a rare opportunity that can offer educational possibilities that a home-based education could never provide.
